Only needed if you picked the API-key option in setup. A pay-as-you-go key from one of three providers, with a spending cap you set. One key runs every agent.
Which one should I pick? Anthropic is the simplest fit. Pick OpenAI or OpenRouter only if you already have an API account there you want to reuse.
One thing before you start, because it catches almost everyone: your key won't work until the provider has a payment method on file. The pages above put that step first, where it belongs.
